Resumen: La uchuva, perteneciente al género Physalis, y a la familia de las Solanáceas, está distribuida en varios países de américa andina. Es caracterizada por presentar un fruto encerrado dentro de un cáliz. El principal sistema de propagación es por semillas, lo que presentan gran variabilidad, las plantas propagadas por semillas difieren en crecimiento, vigor, rendimiento y calidad de los frutos. Por tratarse de una planta alógama y de propagación sexual, presenta una gran variabilidad fenotípica en la población. Una buena forma de reproducción asexuada, que aprovecha todos los factores que interactúan en el cultivo de plantas: siembra, mantenimiento y cosecha, es la micropropagación in vitro, ya que disminuye los periodos requeridos para cada proceso, presenta una homogeneidad en el cultivo, mejora la calidad fitosanitaria.<br/>El principal objetivo de este proyecto es establecer una metodología de micropropagación in vitro para la uchuva y de este modo producir plantas de alta calidad genética y fitosanitaria, en el menor tiempo posible y en gran cantidad. |
