El presente trabajo busca reflexionar respecto del aporte de las políticas públicas educativas en la promoción de la salud en estudiantes chilenos. Se revisa la evolución de la legislación en este aspecto y sus aportes potenciales a la mejora de la calidad de vida y bienestar de los estudiantes, sus familias y la comunidad. Se reconoce el rol de la educación en la formación de recursos humanos para promover consciencia y conductas saludables a nivel físico, psicológico y social. Se plantea la necesidad de desarrollar estudios empíricos respecto al rol de la educación y su vinculación con la salud de las personas. The present piece of work inquiries about the contribution of public educational policies in the promotion of health in Chilean students. The evolution of legislation in this regard and their potential contributions to improving the quality of life and welfare of students, their families and the community is reviewed. The role of education in the formation of human resources is recognized to promote awareness and healthy behaviors at a physical, psychological and social level. The need to develop empirical studies regarding the role of education and its link with the health of people is considered.
